Festival “Honey Manor”

About event

The “Honey Farmstead” celebration, dedicated to World Bee Day and traditional forest beekeeping, was held in Simonichi agro-town on 19 May 2024. Traditional beekeepers came from Lelchitsy, Petrikov, Yelsk, Luninets and other districts. Attractions included themed farmsteads “Spread with Honey” and “The Good Beekeeper”, a honey and bee-products exhibition with tastings, the open-air “Magic of Craft” workshop featuring straw weaving, embroidery, basket and box weaving, and willow weaving, a presentation of local tourism, a “Bee Family” costume parade and a children’s “Merry Hive” area. Lelchitsy District has celebrated bees since 2018. Local forest beekeeping has protected historical and cultural status, and Belarusian tree beekeeping culture is included in UNESCO’s Representative List of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity.
