Maslenitsa festivities at the Museum of Architecture

The celebration of seeing off winter takes place among authentic wooden houses and windmills. Visitors can enjoy traditional amusements: climbing the Maslenitsa pole, tug-of-war, and sleigh rides. Hot pancakes with a wide variety of farm-fresh fillings are baked at every turn. The highlight of the festival is the spectacular burning of a giant Winter effigy accompanied by folk songs.
